Major Scale Cluster

The improviser should be familiar with all 12 major scales, their chords and modes. If that is not the case, then the user should be able to play the 12 tones of the chromatic scale. A major scale cluster is a group of 5 major scales combined as one. That means that the tones can be intermixed in any order suitable to the user's taste to build a solo. The MS cluster is constructed so that each scale is found in a table. The primary scale is located in the center table of the group. Tones of the primary scale are found in all 4 of the other scales. That is the way they are linked. All tone combinations within a cluster, and with the proper accompinament are correct. Each cluster is practiced to a specific harmonic background. It all depends on the user's taste, talent and experience.
